Holt, Rinehart and Winston Assessment Rubrics – Although the Holt, Rinehart and Winston rubrics are designed for Social Studies, the documents will suit a great deal of FL projects, assignments and activities (especially for teaching culture). The site contains 43 sets of straightforward rubrics for evaluating student performance on nearly every classroom assignment and project imaginable. For example, the rubrics for writing assignments include: "Writing to Describe," "Writing to Inform," and "Writing to Persuade." These free forms are in PDF form, so you can just print them out and use them.

Pearson Educational Development Overview Group > Authentic Assessment at teachervison.com – Features a five-part series, Creating Rubrics. The series explores the design, revision, and implementation of rubrics. Sections include:

Performance Assessment Links in Science > PALS Guide. Features a section on rubrics and scoring that provides background description and criteria essential to a good rubric. Software for Creating Rubrics

Rubric Builder – A free service of the Landmark Project features a template where rubrics can be constructed, edited and printed. Rubrics are stored in a rubric bank where they can be accessed and cloned for your purposes. Existing rubrics can be searched by keyword. The site contains foreign language rubrics.

RubiStar – a free tool to help teachers make quality rubrics and to assist those teachers who want to use rubrics but do not have the time to develop them from scratch. The site features model rubrics that can be adapted. Registered users can perform an analysis of their rubric data to analyze the performance of their entire class and identify problem items. No personal identification of your students is required to do the analysis.

Teach-nology's Rubric Generator – Create rubrics online; samples need to be modified for foreign language.
