Articulation through Proficiency-Oriented Language Instruction
and Assessment
From 1993-7, CARLA collaborated with a team of over 50 world
language professionals across Minnesota to create common performance
standards, assessment tools, and curricular strategies to articulate
French, German, and Spanish instruction between secondary and
post-secondary educational levels. This project resulted in the
national dissemination of a set
of assessments, a curriculum
handbook, and a teacher-training
program. Another articulation project administered by CARLA
developed curriculum frameworks and assessments for K-12 Russian
and Japanese
programs.
