2010 Registration Information

Early registration ($350*)
As a special incentive for early registration, the cost for each institute is $50* less if registration is postmarked on or before May 31, 2010. Many of the institutes regularly fill to capacity, so register early. Do NOT purchase airline tickets until you have received confirmation of your completed registration. CARLA is not responsible for airline penalties if tickets are purchased before you have received confirmation that you have been registered in a summer institute.

Some of the CARLA summer institutes fill up quickly! 
To find out whether an institute is closed, check the institute schedule page. For up-to-the-minute information, you can also check the online registration site; if the institute is not listed, it is FULL and registration is CLOSED. You may email the CARLA office (carla@umn.edu) for possible waiting list placement.

How to Register

Payment options include:

• check payable to the University of Minnesota
• credit card charge (VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express)
• purchase order from your institution

  PLEASE NOTE: Payment must be made in U.S. dollars and must accompany your registration.  Wire transfers are not accepted.

If you are a University of Minnesota student planning to take the course for credit and you want to register at the student rate, you must use the hard copy registration form below.

Please Note:

• All registrations must include payment.
• This is a non-credit registration. For many of the institutes you may register for graduate-level credit on the first day of the institute for an additional cost. See Clock Hours/Credit for more information on the costs and the process of graduate-level credit registration, as well as information about obtaining clock hours (no charge).
• A change fee of $15 will be charged to switch from one institute to another.

Refund Policy

Refunds can be issued up to 10 working days prior to the institute (minus a $25 processing fee). After that date, refunds minus $75 will be issued upon receipt of written request. Refunds will not be granted after 4:00 p.m. on the Wednesday before the start of the institute. The University of Minnesota reserves the right to cancel any institute if necessary, in which case participants will receive a full refund for that institute.

Need a Receipt?

All registrants are sent an electronic receipt of registration payment from the office that processes registrations--for online registration this receipt is sent immediately. Sometimes participants don't see the receipt because their computer refers this email to their junk mailbox. Please check your "junk mail box" for this receipt before your request a duplicate receipt.

If you need a duplicate receipt you should send the following information to the registrar at info@cce.umn.edu:

• Your name
• Name of summer institute
• The address to which a hard copy receipt can be sent  

Sorry, no duplicate email receipts are available.

If you have special needs, please contact the CARLA office (carla@umn.edu) at least three weeks prior to the institute for which you are registering.
