WRITING-RELATED WORK

Third Quarter First Year Hindi.
(The activity takes place in the Computer Lab. Student work in pairs.)

Task: Choose a picture and write up a story based somehow on the picture. Your story should have a beginning and end, at least two characters, dialogues and a plot. Draw ideas from the Pancatantra stories we read in class.

Purpose: To create a meaningful environment for developing awareness of written and oral Hindi, recycling vocabulary, practice the use of the perfect tense, and work with dictionary.

Target: vocabulary and writing skills.

There was a house in the jungle. A girl lived in it. Her name was Namita. She lived with her step-mother. Her name was Mia. Mia treated her bad. Namita was very beautiful, but she wasn't happy. She couldn't go out much. Mia envied Namita for her beauty.
