CARLA has conducted learning strategy research and developed a number of teacher resources for Strategies-Based Instruction, which is a learner-centered approach to teaching that integrates strategy training with embedded strategy practice in the foreign language classroom.
This user-friendly website provides strategies to help students to learn and use problematic grammar structures in Spanish.
The Maximizing Study Abroad series of guidebooks helps students, program professionals, and language instructors make the most of study abroad opportunities through strategies for language and culture learning and use. Research is currently being conducted to determine the effectiveness of these targeted support materials on study abroad outcomes.

Each summer CARLA offers a wide array of professional development opportunities for K-16 language teachers including "Improving Language Learning through Strategies-Based Instruction."
