Links to Language Assessment Resources
Here are some links to additional Internet resources for those interested in second language assessment:
- Dr. Glenn Fulcher of the English Language Institute at Surrey
University in the UK maintains a list of resources
in language testing. This website is an extraordinary
resource for language testers seeking information on the Internet,
as it provides access to a wide range of information about sites
involved in language testing. The list is updated frequently,
and information on additional resources is invited. Dr. Fulcher
reviews the sites in the list for both content and style, and
his evaluation of the sites can be found at a link entitled "The
Language Tester's Guide to Cyberspace."
- Dr. Fulcher also maintains the home page for the International
Language Testing Association (ILTA).
- The ILTA's listserv, LTEST-L, is a useful discussion forum
for language testers. To join in, send e-mail to listserv@psuvm.psu.edu
with
subscribe LTEST-L firstname lastname
in the body of the message. A reply containing information about the list should come to you within a few hours.
- The Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) maintains a database of language assessments.
- The ERIC Clearinghouse on
Assessment and Evaluation provides links to an extensive
list of resources which may be of interest to language testers,
including additional assessment-related listservs.
