CARLA and the LCTL project have devoloped sharable material (both
raw material and exercises) for the following languages:
Virtual
Picture Album (VPA)
The VPA is an archive of digitized photographs and drawings, accompanied
by useful descriptions and suggestions for ways LCTL teachers can
incorporate these pictures into in-class and out-of-class activities.
There is also a small collection of sample exercises using pictures
from the VPA. All resources in the VPA can be used free of charge
for educational purposes.
Virtual
Audio-Video Archives (VAVA)
The VAVA is a collection of royalty-free audio and video files for
teachers to use in their own creative exercises, along with a small
number of sample exercises. The VAVA currently contains sounds in
Arabic (Tunisia), Chinese (PRC), Chinese (Taiwan), Hebrew, Norwegian
and Polish, with expansion to other languages in progress.
LCTL Material Development
Mini-Grant Opportunity
To augment its support of LCTL teachers, the LCTL Project awarded
grants of up to $2,000 for the development and submission of sharable
material for teaching a LCTL. It is unlikely that this grant competition
will be repeated in the future. Submitted material will be listed
above under the relevant language.
